Guitar Player by Johannes Vermeer

The Guitar Player
Johannes Vermeer

Even though the specific use of the word "guitar" seems to clearly indicate the The Guitar Player of Iveagh Bequest in London, it is not entirely out of the question that the Woman with a Lute in the Metropolitan might also be considered since nomenclature used in inventory descriptions were  inaccurate at times. The substantial price of  the painting would seem more than justified by the London picture’s exceptional luminosity.
