Vermeer's in the World: Europe

The 36 generally accepted Vermeer's are divided between Europe (22) and America (14). Between New York and Washington (350 kilometers apart) there are eleven paintings a a twelfth atributed work, Girl with a Flute, can been seen in the National Gallery in Washington along with the unanimously accepted works. The recently reattributed Lady Seated at the Virginals once in the Baron Rolin Collectio was displayed in the Art Gallery of the hotel/casino Wynn of Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada but whose whereabouts is presently unknown.

Between Amsterdam and The Hague (60 kilometers apart) there are seven Vermeer paintings. Both areas have many of Vermeer's best works.The Concert, once in Boston, was stolen in 1991.
